WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF
GROIN ULTRASOUND? You most likely have had a cardiac
catheterization recently and may be experiencing some bruising, redness,
swelling and/or pain in the cath-site region. This groin ultrasound study
will allow us to see if any complications have occurred or if what you are
experiencing is part of the healing process.
HOW LONG WILL
MY TEST TAKE? The groin ultrasound exam will
take approximately 30 minutes.
HOW SHOULD I
PREPARE FOR MY TEST? There is no preparation for this
test.
WHAT WILL I
EXPERIENCE DURING THE GROIN ULTRASOUND? The ultrasound itself is painless;
however, you may feel some discomfort from the transducer pressure since you
are already tender in that area.
WHEN WILL I
RECEIVE RESULTS? Results will be mailed to you in
approximately 2 weeks unless your doctor decides to see you in the office
for a visit.
