Andrew M. Hauser, MD, FACC

A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Hauser
completed his internal medicine residency and
cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Dr. Hauser is Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at William
Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Past-President of the Detroit Heart Club
and the American Heart Association of Michigan. He is the Founding President
of the Michigan Society of Echocardiography and, in addition to being a
Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of
Physicians, he is also board certified in both internal medicine and
cardiology.

Douglas C. Westveer, MD, FACC

Dr. Westveer graduated from Michigan State University College
of Human Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at
William Beaumont Hospital in
Royal Oak. He then completed a cardiology-electrophysiology fellowship at the
University of Illinois. Dr. Westveer was co-author of the examination for
special competence in cardiac pacing.
Currently, Dr. Westveer is Chief of the Department of
Cardiology at William
Beaumont
Hospital
in Troy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, member of the
North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology and is board certified in
internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology.

Dominic L. Marsalese, MD, FACC

Dr. Marsalese graduated from Wayne State University School of
Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and served as Chief
Resident at William
Beaumont
Hospital
in Royal Oak. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic
Foundation, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr.
Marsalese also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at the
Cleveland Clinic.
He is Director of the Chest Pain Clinic and Co-Director of
the Interventional Fellowship Training Program at
William Beaumont Hospital in
Royal Oak. Dr. Marsalese is a Fellow of the
American College of Cardiology,
a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Medical
Association. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and
interventional cardiology.

East Lansing,
Dr. Gordon served a one-year rotating internship at
Flint
Osteopathic
Hospital.
He then completed an internal medicine residency, as Chief Resident for one
year, followed by a cardiology fellowship, as Chief Cardiology Fellow, at
William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Dr. Gordon is board certified in both internal medicine and
cardiology and is a Fellow of the
American College of Cardiology.

New York, Dr. Berman completed
his residency at Beth Israel Hospital
in Boston followed by a clinical and research fellowship within the
Cardiovascular Division of Harvard Medical School's Department of Medicine at
the same hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and
interventional cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Prior to joining our group, Dr. Berman was a Director of both the Cardiac
Fellowship Program and the Morse Coronary Care Unit at
Beth Israel Hospital while
being an Assistant Professor in Medicine at
Harvard
Medical
School
in Boston.

Dr. Shoukfeh graduated from Damascus University School of
Medicine in Damascus,
Syria.
He completed his internal medicine residency at Michigan State University
Associated Hospitals while serving as Chief Resident and Teaching Associate.
Dr. Shoukfeh then completed a cardiology fellowship at
William Beaumont Hospital in
Royal Oak, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He also completed an
interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital with further
training in peripheral angioplasty at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.
Dr. Shoukfeh is board
certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology and is
a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of Cardiac Pacing at the

ablation therapy).

William H. Kou, MD, FACC

Dr. Kou graduated from National
Taiwan
University School of Medicine in Taipei, Taiwan and completed his internal
medicine residency at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. He then
completed fellowships in both cardiology and electrophysiology at the University
of Michigan.
Prior to joining our medical staff, Dr. Kou was an Associate Professor of
Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at University of Michigan and the
Director of the Electroyphysiology Lab at Veterans
Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System in association with the University of
Michigan. He has also authored more than 60 original arrhythmia related
publications. Dr. Kou is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology.
His knowledge and
experience is being utilized in the areas of pacing and electrophysiology
(management of arrhythmias, implantable defibrillators, ablation therapy,
pacemakers and cardiac resynchronization therapy).
Dr. Kou speaks fluent English and Chinese; he

Steven B.H. Timmis, MD, FACC

Dr. Timmis graduated from Wayne State University

He served as Chief Cardiology Fellow during his Cardiovascular Fellowship at
Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and then completed his
Interventional Cardiology Fellowship as Chief Fellow at William Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak.
Dr. Timmis is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and
Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology
and is a member of the American Heart Association and the Michigan State Medical
Society.
His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the areas of Interventional
Cardiology.

Amr El-Sayed Abbas, MD

Dr. Abbas graduated
from Ain-Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, after which he
completed his Internal Medicine residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix,
Arizona.
He served his Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale
Arizona and his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at William Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Abbas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and
Echocardiography and board eligible for Interventional Cardiology. His knowledge
and experience is being utilized in the areas clinical and interventional
cardiology, peripheral vascular disease as well as Echocardiography. He has
authored more than 15 original echocardiography and interventional related
publications and is a reviewer for multiple peer review journals.
He speaks English, French and Arabic and sees patients at

David M. Nori, M.D.

Dr. Nori graduated
from Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He
completed his Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Nori is board certified in Internal Medicine, Clinical
Cardiology and is board certified in Electrophysiology. He is working in the atrial fibrilliation clinic at Royal Oak Beaumont. In addition, he is a member
of the American Heart Association, and the American College of Cardiology.
His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the areas of heart rhythm
disorders with non-invasive and invasive approaches (pacemakers, defibrillators,
electrophysiology studies, and a full spectrum of ablations).
